Welcome
to our new families this term, we hope you enjoy being part of the FLOURISH
family. Each term we have a newsletter
that gives you all the info and any changes that you need to know. But as always, if you have any concerns or
queries please don’t hesitate to ring, email, text or talk to Sarah, Ruth or
any other staff member.
Term 2 Themes
We have
some great things planned for Term 2 & our first theme is “Autumn”. Keep an eye out for our monthly calendars – we
post them on our Facebook & Instagram pages and also on our website. If you haven’t already done so, please like
or follow our pages for updates, photos & more.
Staffing
As you
may have heard, our manager Sarah is expecting a baby in late October. We are so excited for her & her family as
they welcome a new little one into their whanau. J
For
FLOURISH this means we will be advertising for a new manager. We hope to have this person on-board within
the next little while so we can have a seamless as possible transition. We will keep you posted.
Survey
We love
creating a safe & fun place for your children after school and value your
feedback so we can provide an even better service to you & your
family. Every year we request a parent
survey so we can gather this data.
Please keep an eye out for an email from “survey monkey” within the next
few weeks that will have a link to our online form. As usual there will be a prize draw for those
parents who take the time to fill this out for us. We thank you in advance for your
participation in this.
WINZ Subsidies:
This
past term it has taken some parents a long time to hand their declaration forms
in to WINZ, resulting in their subsidy not being paid or being paid many weeks
in arrears. As a result we spend a lot
of time chasing these up and in the meantime accounts aren’t being paid. From this term onwards we will enforce a
cut-off period for when these need to be completed by. If by week 5 of any term we still have no
WINZ Subsidy form handed in, then we will have to discontinue after school care
until it has been sorted & your place may also be given to others who are
on the waiting list. Please do all you
can to ensure your subsidy form is returned within this timeframe.
Holiday Program
We had
considered offering this for two weeks in each holiday period to help cater for
differing parent’s needs, but with the changeover of a manager happening within
the next couple of terms, we feel this new initiative would be best left until
next year. There will be a section on
this in the parent survey, so please let us know what you think. So for July & Oct this year it will just
be the first week of the holidays that we will have a program.
There
is also a slight change in the pricing for Holiday Program this year. The EARLYBIRD price (means it is paid in full
at least 2 weeks before the HP starts) is $35 a day, or $150 for the whole
week. The STANDARD price is $40 a day or
$175 for the whole week.
