31st January 2017
Dear parents/caregivers
Welcome back to the new school year. We hope your children (& you) have had a
pleasant holiday and are refreshed for the new year to come. It has been a long time since we have had a
newsletter & we do thank you for your patience last year as Ruth became
sick and was unable to do much at all.
It is great news to report that after 6 months, she has been given the
“all clear” and is back on board, catching up on FLORUISH business from last
year J
New roles
Sarah has done an amazing job keeping FLOURISH running while
Ruth has been sick and we are thankful for her very capable hands to run the
centre. As a result we have split the
roles & Sarah is now the centre manager – all attendance, enrolment & day
to day running of the centre will be handled by her. Ruth will still be in charge of the accounts,
and any WINZ subsidy or account issues please contact her either by phone or
email. (flourish.asck@gmail.com)
New program
It is also exciting to announce that we have approval for a
school holiday program at the same venue we are using for after school
care. We will still only have 30 spaces
a day available & these will be given as first priority to children who are
enrolled in after school care. More details
on cost & dates will follow but we aim to start this in the coming April
holidays.
Reminders
Our payment policy
& fees have changed slightly, so please familiarise yourself with the
new ones which are here & here. They also displayed on the
noticeboard at the centre. If you are
unsure of what your weekly payment is, please contact Ruth.
At the end of each term you will be sent a form from WINZ to confirm your subsidy for the
coming term. It is important that you
are prompt with returning this to WINZ or your subsidy will be suspended and it
requires a lot of time and effort to chase this up.
Your child’s safety and care is paramount in all we do at
FLOURISH and when they don’t show up on day they are enrolled we know that we
need to find out ASAP where they are and if they are safe. This often means phone calls to schools, or
parents & often takes considerable time to follow-up. If they are on the van route & we have to
do this, it means we are then running late for all the pickups that
afternoon. If we do have to make a phone
call to find out where your child(ren) are, a “no
show” fee of $5 will be added to your account. Please, if your child is enrolled on any given
day and they are either sick or unable to come, can you please contact us before 2:00pm and let us know. A text or phone call to Sarah is all it
takes. Grace will be shown in extreme circumstances
or emergencies.
We are looking forward to a great year with new things
planned & improving anywhere we can.
We love to hear what you think & how we can help serve you better,
so please if you have any concerns or issues don’t hesitate to talk to Sarah or
Ruth about any issue & we will do our best to help.
Yours sincerely,
Ruth, Sarah, Catherine, Kelly
& Grace
The FLOURISH team
