Term 2 newsletter

Dear parents/caregivers

Please find attached to this newsletter your account summary for the past term.  If you have any queries about this or unsure of anything in regards to payments, please chat, text or email Ruth.        We have decided to reduce our newsletters to once a term with all the important info in one place at one time.  We will still continue to have monthly calendars of the activities we are running and they will be available for you to look at on our noticeboard or facebook.

This past term has been one of change & growth and it is great to have so many more families with us at FLOURISH.  We hope you feel settled quickly and part of our FLOURISH family.  As a result we have some new staff members and we would like to welcome Catherine Manga & Willa McCartney to our team at FLOURISH.  Catherine has just returned from Australia where she has worked & trained with children.  She brings to the team a wealth of experience and musical ability.  It will be nice to see this on the activity calendar again.  Willa joins our student team & we look forward to the care & creativity she will bring.

Next term we will see another change too in our prices as WINZ have increased their subsidy rate.  The new pay schedule is on the noticeboard for you to view the details, but for most of you it will mean a lower weekly rate or FREE after school care.  It is great that the government is able to add more funds to this necessary service and hopefully this will help you out with more money in your pockets each week.

At the end of each term you will be sent a form from WINZ to confirm your subsidy for the coming term.  It is important that you are prompt with returning this to WINZ or your subsidy will be suspended.  Please talk to Ruth if you are not sure about anything regarding subsidies.

Your child’s safety and care is paramount in all we do at FLOURISH and when they don’t show up on day they are enrolled we know that we need to find out ASAP where they are and if they are safe.  This often means phone calls to schools, or parents & often takes considerable time to follow-up.  If they are on the van route & we have to do this, it means we are then running late for all the pickups that afternoon.  Unfortunately, we have been having a rather large amount of “No shows” lately and as a result we are introducing a “no show” fee of $5. Please, if you child is enrolled on any given day and they are either sick or unable to come, can you please contact us before 2:00pm and let us know.  A text or phone call to Ruth is all it takes.  Grace will be shown in extreme circumstances or emergencies.

We love to hear what you think & how we can help serve you better, so please if you have any concerns or issues don’t hesitate to talk to one of the supervisors or Ruth.

Yours sincerely,

Ruth, Denise, Sarah, Catherine, Grace, Caleb & Willa

The FLOURISH team
